From Little Ballerina to Dance Enthusiasts: Our Love for Ballet

In the world of the Decoretti family, ballet holds a special place in our hearts.

In this captivating blog post, join us as we journey through the enchanting world of dance. From my own ballet experiences as a child to my oldest daughter diverse dance repertoire and the joy of watching the youngest discover their passion for ballet, we share our love for movement, expression, and the art of dance.

Embracing the Balletic Spirit

From a young age, I was drawn to the ethereal beauty and grace of ballet. As a little girl, between the ages of 7 and 12, I pirouetted and twirled, losing myself in the music and the art of movement. Ballet became my sanctuary, a place where I could express myself and find solace in the dance.

As the years passed, my passion for ballet grew, and I decided to share my love for this art form with others. I opened my own ballet school, where I had the privilege of teaching toddlers and children the art of ballet. Guiding them through pliés, tendus, and arabesques, I witnessed the joy and transformation that dance brought into their lives.

One of my greatest moments of pride was when my talented daughter, discovered her own passion for dance. She embraced a wide range of styles, excelling not only in classical ballet but also in modern, hip-hop, house, popping, and locking. Her versatility and dedication shone brightly as she seamlessly transitioned between genres, captivating audiences with her expressive movements.

Ippin's journey reached a milestone when she purchased her first pair of pointe shoes—a symbolic representation of her growth and commitment to the art of ballet. It was a proud moment for both of us, as we celebrated her dedication and the beginning of a new chapter in her dance journey.

The youngest member of our family, fell in love with ballet at an early age. She adored her ballet outfits, twirling and leaping with grace and enthusiasm. Her delicate expressions and sensitivity added a touch of magic to her performances, captivating audiences with her ethereal presence.

As the little ones grew older, they, too, discovered the joy of dance. At the age of 4 and 5, they joined Karen's ballet school, embarking on their own balletic adventures. Each of them brought their unique flair to the dance floor— My little bouncing ball of energy, and the youngest, captivated by the teacher's imaginative storytelling and the trains she incorporated into her classes.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought unexpected challenges, including the temporary closure of dance studios. However, our passion for dance remained unyielding. We adapted to the circumstances, embracing online ballet classes from the comfort of our home. It was a heartwarming sight to witness them all, and saw them  dancing with dedication and joy, their movements filling our living room with an undeniable energy.

Dance holds a special place in our family's heart, reminding us of the beauty of self-expression and the power of movement. Through ballet, we find solace, inspiration, and a profound connection to the music and rhythms of life. It is a universal language that transcends words and allows us to communicate with our bodies and souls.

So, dear readers, as you embark on your own dance journeys or celebrate the dancers in your life, remember the tale of the Decoretti family. Embrace the magic of ballet, revel in the joy of movement, and let your spirits soar on the wings of dance. Together, let us celebrate the artistry, grace, and passion that dance brings to our lives.
