DecorettiMoM my life in The USA

Its a couple of years ago, The moment when I stepped onto the plane, not yet realizing I was leaving everything I loved in the Netherlands behind for good.

Now, I’ve been living and working in the heart of the United States: the Midwest.

My adventure began with a leap of faith—a unique opportunity to build a new life on the other side of the ocean. In this blog, I share my experiences, challenges, and discoveries in this fascinating region.

Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the warmth of the people here. The Midwest is known for its hospitality, and I’ve experienced that firsthand. Whether it’s a chat with the neighbors or the helpfulness of colleagues, I quickly felt welcome.

Living and working in the Midwest is quite different from what I was used to in the Netherlands. The vast landscapes, seasonal activities, and strong sense of community are just a few aspects that color my daily life. The work culture here is direct and practical but also friendly and supportive—a mix of hard work and enjoying life.

The cultural differences are also striking. While the Dutch are known for their directness, Americans tend to be more polite and often avoid confrontation. This sometimes leads to misunderstandings but also offers valuable learning moments. I enjoy discovering local traditions like Thanksgiving and the Fourth of July and appreciate the diversity of perspectives I encounter daily.

Through my blog, I hope to give you a glimpse into my life here in the Midwest and maybe even inspire others to push their boundaries too. I look forward to sharing my stories, tips, and adventures with you. Step into my world and discover the charm of America through my eyes. Welcome, and happy reading!

26 Years of Motherhood!

In this blog, I celebrate 25 years as a mother of my 5 children. I honor them here.

I share my most beautiful memories, fun anecdotes, and the creative moments we’ve enjoyed together. These years have been filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable experiences that shaped both me and my children.

But I also reflect on the more difficult times, such as the Toeslagenaffaire, which started for me in 2005. As a single mother, I had to fight for years against institutions and the government. It was a long and exhausting battle, one that affected not only me but also my family deeply.

This blog is not just about the joys of motherhood but also the challenges I’ve faced along the way. Through it all, I remain grateful for the love and strength my children have brought into my life.

Healing from Narcissism: My Journey and Insights

On my blog about healing from narcissism. At 17, I often heard that my mother was a narcissist, but at that time, I had no idea what it meant. Subsequently, I found myself repeatedly attracting narcissists into my life. My first marriage ended in chaos, and many relationships followed suit. It wasn't until after I turned 45 that things started to become clearer. I began working on myself and now can recognize narcissists from a distance, equipped with the right knowledge to handle them.

There are more narcissists in the world than we realize, and in my blog, I explain why this is the case. I share my personal experiences and insights, teaching you how to deal with narcissists, avoid them, and heal if you've been a victim of someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD).

Let my story inspire you and discover how to protect and restore yourself.
